Scamper exercise: Baby broom

our team decided to use the broom for our scamper exercise. we decided to incorporate the broom with a baby stroller. the stroller would play music when the child moves around music would play from the stroller. the stroller would have a vacuum incorporated with the broom part of the stroller so that it would suck up the dust after sweeping the floor.

after i watching the video, i realize this is a good way of getting more ideas from a single idea. in the video, the company that created smarties came up with nany ways of marketing their product and reinvent it so that there are fresh products on the shelf to attract consumers to buy them. we could apply this to other daily life and also even our creative works. it forces us to change how we look at a single idea and expands into infinite possiblities.

Forced connection mindmap: nature vs manmade

in this exercise, we try to make force connections between two very different items. we came up with alot of ideas but many of them seemed very obvious and it would help if we spend more time refining on a single idea. alot of them seemed like it would not work but i believe to that there are ways to work around it so that it would work. i think that good force connection products should not just only take on the obvious physical shape of another item as it is something that most people can come up with.

apparently this is a very good example of a remarkable video. it serves no meaning yet people would share it because it is unusual. A product does not need to be good to be shared widely by people. as long as it is unusual and fresh, people will talk about it.

Forced connections

  i realised that certain words were more difficult to represent, for eg  brave pencil. i thought of the image for a lion when i thought of bravery. however i found it difficult to combine the two to give a satisfying idea. i also realize that certain items that i came up with for certain words can also describe other words as well. the multiple tipped pencil might have been more suitable under the category of hardworking than greedy.
